BK Telecom is one of the youngest television stations in Serbia and Montenegro. It is a privately owned, revenue generating media house with a “G” rating (general audiences or general interest station) and without editorial or content restrictions.

The station began operating on December 5th, 1994 with the motto: “Symbol of good television.” The first show on-air was called, in translation, “Little Serbian Reader.” Classified as a general interest station, BK Telecom gathered a wide audience following with its range of programming, each show demonstrating our professional conduct, speed, accuracy, courtesy, competency and world class design. We gained our audience’s trust through a 24-hour educational channel, by which we refer to everything from our manner of verbal expression, the way we conduct interviews, how we visually tell the story to the manner with which we conduct ourselves. On the territory of ex-Yugoslavia, BKTV is the first television to introduce the idea of television that educates, thus raising the standards in broadcasting. We were also the first to place the station mic-flash in our stories, the first to hire a stylist for our on-air talent, as well as being the first to do a live broadcast of the Christmas mass.

BK Telecom owns up-to-date television technology, modern working environments, four TV studios, numerous edit suites and master controls, SNG vehicles, satellite connections and mobile ENG crews.

In nine years of existence, BK Telecom had only the most educated, competent and creative management teams at its helm. It is because of those same teams that we succeeded in conserving but also renewing our production resources, while paying special attention to our human resources. BK Telecom realizes the importance of human resources at the core of success of any company so we nurture our staff by keeping our internal PR active and constantly improving our management styles.

Currently, our signal covers more than 90% of the territory and reaches about 90% of the entire population. A string of local TV stations also re-broadcast our programming resulting in, at certain times, about 90% of the population following our broadcasts. Respected research agencies assigned BKTV with attributes of the most perspective and standard raising television in this territory. We pride ourselves at having program content that is at the very top of quality scales.

From the very beginning, the programming of BKTV was created as such that at the core is always news and news-style shows, followed by short TV programs, TV duels, and original programming in the areas of documentary, arts, entertainment and sports and topped of with carefully selected series and movies.

We deal with our competitors in an open manner, always striving to be the leader in introducing new and innovative programming to our audiences. Through a very particular selection process, we created the most expensive and highest quality programming structure. “Hugo,” for example, is the first interactive show seen on this territory. In addition, there are also family sitcoms and carefully chosen movies all headed by news programming that satisfies the needs of our audiences and the market. We also include production of domestic series, both comedies and dramas, various kids’ shows, educational travel shows and various other original programming.
